If you have an IP Profile of 750Kbps, it is technically impossible to get speeds above that.
No matter how often you reboot, this will not impact your throughput speeds, however you should look out for the connection speeds that you're getting. If you get a higher one, don't reboot again and your IP Profile will improve within a few days of stability.

Two identical threads by the same OP merged. There is no need to spam the boards.

Quote from: stathe I have freqently tried to reboot to regain my former speeds
How frequently? Too often can/will be seen as a fault by BT's automated systems.
Your downstream SNRM of 10dB suggests some errors have been detected, though this is not an abnormal figure for a longish line.
Are your figures taken by connecting to the Test Socket, to elminate any internal wiring faults?

Ideally do it unfiltered (adapter or RJ11/BT lead such as a modem cable or detachable phone cable) or use a "known good" plug-in filter (NOT your faceplate).
Your line attenuation looks odd, it's a very high ratio, usually nearer 2 not 4.

How distant exactly, do you know how far you are from the exchange?

theres a reason its called a test socket it elmenates any interferece you might have from extesions coming of the master socket.
I had a wee sync speed problem but did not investagite it on the test socket as i have no extension. but the other day i gave it a go and saw a doubling in my sync speed. which leads me to think the contacts in the faceplate are worn or faulty and now plug my filter into the test socket till i can get a new face plate.

Broken faceplate or broken router. Would definitely see if you could try testing them both out.

Quote from: stathe The exchange is not actualy at Burrowbridge but almost n 2 miles further on and would be over 4 miles from my home
4 miles is further than ADSL normally reaches!
Almost anything could change things over that distance.
Maybe you should discuss with PN whether a fixed rate product would be better, e.g. 1mbps?
