Slow P2P Speeds

Hey all, I'm new to Plusnet and also new to forums.
I have been a Plusnet member for over 2 weeks now on the ultimate package and I am getting really slow P2P download speeds (not seen higher than 90kBps).
I came to Plusnet from S*y Broadband where i was hitting P2P download speeds of 1800kBps.
I am using a Belkin F5D8631-4 Modem Router (same one I was using with previous ISP and achieving 1800kBps).
I am just wondering if anyone can help me find a reason as to why my speeds are so poor.
Thank you for yor time.

Re: Slow P2P Speeds

When are you running your P2P - certainly between midnight and midday I get up to 500k depending on download.

Re: Slow P2P Speeds

I have it running between at various times 7pm and 11am as this is when i am at home.
Also, I left my torrents running overnight last night and i checked my broadband usage via the Plusnet main site and it said i have used 0kb during off peak.
Shocked
Thats very confusing lol.

Re: Slow P2P Speeds

Ah, that clears that up then. Thank you.
Do you have any indication as to why I am not getting the speeds I should be?

Re: Slow P2P Speeds

the rate limits are enforced during midday to midnight
but after midnight you should get the max speed that the p2p network your using can give.
max sure you upload is set to 80% of the maxium on your line ie (80% of the upload result on speed test) if your using torrent clients  Wink

Re: Slow P2P Speeds

Ok will do.
My uploads are fine, like 80kBps - 120kBps, its just my downloads which are shocking.
Surely something must be wrong if I am not getting downloads higher than 90kBps after midnight?

Re: Slow P2P Speeds

just peg that upload back  on your p2p app .
if your not on the adsl2+ trial then i think when your downloading set it to 32kB/s when just seeding allow it full line speed on upload
i think the upload being maxed out and slowing downloads down is your problem as you moved from a llu provider to PN which on currently sold products have diffrent upstream sync's

Re: Slow P2P Speeds

I just ran a speed test with the link you sent.
5715kbps Download and 298kpbs Upload.
Why cant I get a fraction of these speeds on my P2P app?  Shocked
