Slow Internet, could someone check for problems?

Hi,

I'm trying to find out if there is a problem with my broadband. Heres some info:

- The connection is pretty slow. On the BT broadband test website: 4.67Mb download, 0.94Mb upload, 32 ping

- I live 500 metres from the exchange

- Sometimes the speed drops so much that its unusable. Also, the ping can be really variable. Sometimes its 20, sometimes 300. I basically cant play online games as my ping can vary so much i get disconnected.

- I live in a semi, i asked my neighbour to do a speed test and they got 11Mb download.

- Router Stats: noise margin = 5.9/4, Line attenuation = 21/40.5

- I have attached the results from BT further diagnostics and the PlusNet line speed tests

What can be done to see if i have a problem with my broadband? Or if there are any wiring problems etc?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You'll need to post more comprehensive router stats, including SNR etc.

Hi there. Sorry to hear you're having speed issues.

Our tests are showing your router in sync at 4.8mbps (Which is about right for the download speed you're getting). As it's below your estimates of between 5.5mbps and 12.5mbps I'd recommend running through the steps here.

If your speed doesn't improve, please raise a fault to us here.
