I can log into all hosts.
- i have turned off my router FIREWALL,
- My PC is DMZ
- Uninstalled NIS2009 and tried again
- Tried ACTIVE mode
- Tried different FTP Clients
- Tried SFTP
Tried BPFTP client when entering the folder it seems to list folders above but thats it( bottom left of screen Bytes/sec reduces to 4/8 bytes/sec) .
Its a Joomla site, so installed joomla xplorer. Can see all the folder/files without a problem.
Just cannot get into some folders.....its weird. Maybe nothing to do with 21CN because i have installed a new BELKIN N+ router (only other thing that has changed since i could get in)but the bytes/sec seem to point to the broadband?
If it was on a windows home PC i would chkdsk for corruption.....but?
Regards Steve

My brand spanking new Belkin N+ is the problem (seeing what belkin come up with). I assumed, stupidly, that the new router was working correctly.
Just in case they cant fix the firmware.....can anybody recommend a pro Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem router that works with FTP:)

After consultation with Belkin......i changed the MTU from 1432 to 1500. FTP working properly now.
Anybody know what the most optimised MTU should be set to for 21CN???? Any programs that will test for me ( VISTA mug).

It's possible that there was an MTU discrepancy between your computer and your router, which could have caused the problems you were seeing.

Is there a program like DrTcp that runs on vista to optimise for the 21cn line?
I think Vista is supposed to adjust to the optimal MTU anyway???

I use 1430 on both router and computer and it works fine. Not sure what you can use with Vista though. I'm still on XP.

Your lucky, you still get alert boxes that gave you clues to whats happening. I remember them, those where the days.

I think the only problem i had was with ftp sites so most people would not noticed any problems(web browsing, email etc ok).
It was a very odd problem, of course makes total sense now.
