Simple explanation of speeds please.

I had an email from Plusnet today that says my current line speed is 7.15Mbps (after 14 days of service)
My Modem router says :Data Rate 5984 448 kbps
                      Max Rate 6208 844 kbps
My speed test gives this result: 4783 kbps (598kB/s)
Do all these speed indicators correspond or does the speed test look low?

Hi purpse,
welcome to the forums. The sync speed you get will determine your IP profile. Your IP profile on the BT systems is 5000 so that's why you're seeing just under that on your speed test. 5000 is right for your current sync rate of 5984k The 7150 was a reading from our end which should mirror the BT one, which it does now at 5000.
