Re: Seriously?

What's the CPU utilisation shown in task manager while you are trying to watch anything streamed?

Re: Seriously?

Woeful again this morning

You are currently connected to gateway ptn-ag04.
Line is quiet. Router stats look ok.
Impossible to watch anything on iplayer, Youtube etc

Sully666,
You've had a long history of reporting slow performance -see http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,123239.msg1070263.html#msg1070263 - what was the conclusion of that event?  I recall that somewhere in that thread it was stated that you were being switched to 21CN, however the stats reported there (17.5Mbps) indicate you were already on 21CN.
Have you done a quiet line test?  Have you been through the fault elimination process?  Have you had a BTOR visit?

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Seriously?

Had 2 engineer visits. Neither found anything wrong (including internal wiring). Line is as quiet as the grave.
Seems to be back to normal at the minute.

Often seems to happen when I want to watch something streamed. Could it be anything to do with this on the Service Status page?
Online Services and Streaming (80309) - UPDATE
15/05/2014 @ 15:50
This is an update to Friday's post regarding problems using or accessing some online service and streaming websites.
We are still seeing issues with customers accessing these affected sites and services via mobile devices. We are continuing to work with the affected sites and services to resolve these problems.
If you're experiencing these issues then a single disconnect/reconnect from within your router should resolve this for you.
Sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing.
Kind Regards,
Chris Purvey
Customer Support.

If so, when will it finally be sorted, or will this be the norm from now on.

Re: Seriously?

No, that meant people allocated IPs from some of the new ranges were totally blocked from the website as they thought they were not in the UK.

Re: Seriously?

Next time it happens, can you post a traceroute to a site like bbc.co.uk ? Can you also download a file http://ipv4.download.thinkbroadband.com/20MB.zip to see how fast/slow it downloads?

Re: Seriously?

Your traceroutes look fine and don't seem to show any specific problem. I still think it's an issue your end.
Do you have another PC or laptop you can use to test? Have you tried a different browser?

Do you have an ATI graphics card? This came up recently - http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,124744.msg1103643.html#msg1103643
Does your son's PC have the same issue?

Thanks for that. Fortunately it is something I haven't installed. My son hasn't mentioned anything to me. Will have to see if anything comes of me raising a fault.
