Sending email outside of plusnet account line

As title really.
Is there a way of sending email from my plusnet account with the client on my computer (thunderbird) outside of my plusnet account line at home.
At present I can collect email at work, but not send any.

Yes, you can set up authentication on your outgoing SMTP server and use your portal login/pass as the authentication details.

I would set it up while you are connected to your PlusNet line and make sure that it works from there before you try it from elsewhere, unless you are talking about using a desktop somewhere else.

Or you can use webmail, of course. Works from anywhere.
