Just got my fibre install today (at last), all went fine on that front.
On my old plusnet package with 6MB broadband I was able to download from SFTP at around 800kbs. Now that I'm on plusnets fibre package, I'm getting downloads of around 60kbs with the exact same setup. Non SSH protocols like FTP and HTTP deliver me a download rate of around 3.2MBs so there's nothing inherently wrong with the line or setup. It seems more so that the new package Plusnet have put me on is capping the absolute hell out of SSH, and for my usage, that is simply not acceptable.
After waiting 11 days for the engineer to actually turn up, I finally have the package and it is worse than what I had before.

SFTP runs on port 22 as I would expect it to, shouldn't be a cause for any problems.

Doesn't sound right. We'll have a look on Monday.

I've just found a test site that may help detect problems, as well as giving speed test results for SSH transfers...
Measurement Lab, their Network Diagnostic Tool is a standard speed test, with some extra information in the results.
For SSH, use Glasnost's SSH Transfer test, which for me had the main result of

Just had a look at your account and I can see the problem is no more? Is this still the case?

Hi,
I've just had Plusnet Unlimited fibre installed and I too am experiencing extremely slow speeds on SFTP/SSH/SCP port 22.
Is this port traffic managed or something?
