Routing problems

Hi,
Earlier this afternoon I began to experience problems reaching some US sites.  A tracert seems to fail to get outside of Plusnet.
An example is webmail.endeavors.com
People on other service providers appear to be reaching the sites, no problem.
Can anyone else reach the site via Plusnet?
Cheers,  Neil

Re: Routing problems

Hi there,
We can access the site, and we've tried this from home connections too.
Anyone else seeing any issues?
What does a trace route show you?

Thanks for the massively swift response  Wink
Here's my tracert - basically it begins to time out after the 3rd hop:

Browser access gives a server not found error - consistent with a time out.  Until 1:30pm I'd been having no problems.

I've forced a gateway change, but no difference - just a different route to the same problem:

I've asked one of our Network guys to have a quick look at this.

Which makes it hard for me to diagnose this.
I don't suppose you have more than one PC there kjaerligkatt ?

Looks like a possible DNS weirdness either with your config or there's some random cacheing on your side.
We have been totally unable to replicate this one unfortunately.

Re: Routing problems

Hi Ian,
Yep - how many do you want 😉  3 laptops and 3 desktops currently connected.
Apart for variation in the delays, I get the same from other PCs.
I have a Vigor 2800 ADSL router and a DELL Powerconnect 5324.
I've reset the Vigor a couple of times.  I'll power cycle the Powerconnect to see if the problem may be there.

Cool. Keep us posted. I am keen to get to the bottom of this one.

Re: Routing problems

OK, power cycled the Dell to no avail.
I've now taken the Dell out of the equation, but patching one of the desktops directly into the Vigor's router.
Still the same - have power cycled the Vigor again, to be sure.
Any other ideas of what I could try?
It's strange that this just 'appeared' as a problem early this afternoon.

Re: Routing problems

Hi All,
I was interested to read your post earlier Neil, I've been having the same problems this afternoon/this evening and my issues are still there.
Like yourself I have several machines running here and all are experiencing the same issues.
I'm unable to access any transatlantic sites, e.g www.google.com my Yahoo Webmail and eBay are pretty flaky too!
Anybody else having problems?
Cheers
Paul

Re: Routing problems

Hi Paul.
Can you post us up a tracert so we can see what the issues are or where they may lie?
