Routers and disconnections

I've been having more than my normal share of disconnections recently do I took more notice than usual of an email stating
Quote
If you were disconnected then you should have been able to get straight back online. Some customers with routers that don't handle these situations very gracefully may need to reboot their equipment.

I'm intrigued, and would love to know what makes/models are being referred to here. I'm currently using an old netgear which I read recently is one of the better makes but I have no real baseline to compare to. Anyone able to enlighten me?

Re: Routers and disconnections

I've known some of the BT Voyager routers to suffer from the same issue.

Re: Routers and disconnections

I've been having a large number of disconnections too.
For the last few nights it's been every 30 minutes or so, and I'm using the Thomson router that PlusNet supplied

Re: Routers and disconnections

HI Tom,
Was just checking your connection logs and it's not too clever. Just a couple of things though...
1) plug microfilter directly into test socket with no extensions in between and no other equipment attached.
2) try a different microfilter.
3) try the router on another network or try another router on the system.
If this doesn't help you may need to raise a fault ticket.

Re: Routers and disconnections

Hi,
I've only got one socket, which is the master.
And I've tried disconnecting everything else, changing the filter, etc, but nothing seems to resolve it.
I have raised a support ticket, to which they've said they will try turning off interleaving (2 days ago) to see if that helps, but it hasn't so far.
