Router refusing to accept wifi password on new phone

Hi,

i have a sony xperia L3, it connects to all wifi except my plusnet home wifi.

I have done all the usual reset networks, forget network, re-started router.

It just says 'check password and try again'... I am typing in the correct password, have had someone check it  and its all definitely correct.  it is driving me mad.  

I am reliably told its the router to blame.  all other devices connect up just fine including ipads, other mobiles, desktop pcs, laptops etc....

Any help greatly appreciated.

If all other devices connect without a problem, I can't quite see how the router can be to blame?

Strangely enough someone else has a phone (in this case an iPhone 7) that won't connect to their home network.

My suggestion - if it is possible - can you try connecting to say an amenable neighbours network?

Have you checked that you are using the correct security protocol, probably WPA2, on your phone?

i think i found it, pressed the wps button on router and it has connected.

Ah, fair enough.
