Router random resets and DLM

Hi,
I think dlm has capped my line down speed due to the fact the tg852n I was supplied seems to like to randomly reboot itself several times a day. Over the weekemd I was syncing at approx 9500 down and today i'm now down to:

Would someone from support mind having a look at the profile please? I think I've sorted the router reset issue by using the 10.2.2.B firmware from plusnet, no reboots in the past 24hrs that I've noticed.

Re: Router random resets and DLM

Hi there,
we'll need to focus on preventing the disconnection in order for the speeds to improve.
I'll reply to ticket 77779816  for you regarding the router.
Here's a view of the disconnections we've logged over the past week in case that helps.

Re: Router random resets and DLM

Hi Adam,
Thanks for the reply. The router hasn't rebooted itself since I updated the firmware Monday afternoon, prior to that it was doing a full hard reset where it was reloading the kernel according to the log and my pc lan port was reporting no lan connection available at those times. The reset on Tuesday was me trying to resync at a higher rate and again one of the two resets today were me restarting the gateway in an attempt to resync at a higher rate, that was approx 10am ish, however I don't recall rebooting it at approx 12.30am as the graph shows.
Thanks,
David.

Re: Router random resets and DLM

Thanks again Adam. I take it with the reset its essentially the same as dlm running again ie. It won't be an instant increase?

Re: Router random resets and DLM

That's right, basically the line retrains as if it were a new service and settles at its best available speed over a couple of days or so.

Re: Router random resets and DLM

Well my sync is gradually on the rise but the speed isn't as these images show:

What I find most baffling though is the fact I still appear to have sky broadband active on my line. I was trying to turn the old sky router into an access point but in my haste connected the dsl as well as the rj45 from the pc and voila!
That can't be normal can it?

Re: Router random resets and DLM

Now the tg582n is playing up again, the Ethernet won't connect on three different devices all using different patch cables, the ethernet light is missing. Its stopped assigning IP addresses over WiFi. So if you see multiple resyncs this eve its been me desperately trying to reboot the router and connect to it. Even a full reset via the back button has done nothing. Thinking ive got a dud, does anyone else rohter get too hot to touch? I'm currently posting this using my sky connection that was Supposedly cancelled on the 14th using the sky f@st2504n, so pleased its still active and fast.

Re: Router random resets and DLM

My TG582n, which has been turned on for months, is just pleasantly warm to the touch.
What value is set for Current line speed in your Plusnet Member Centre? For the sync speed of 6515kbps in your TG582n routerstats table Current line speed should have been 5.7Mbps but I suspect yours is/was around 4.2Mbps judging by the speed test result. Current line speed should update to match BT's IP Profile when new values are passed on.
