Router overhead ?

Hi, last week I replaced my ADSL modem with a Plusnet supplied D Link router. My usage stats show a consistent 300-400Kb traffic every night in "Free usage", but my PC is completely turned off by 11pm and restarted about 9am.
Is this just the router doing its housekeeping, or should I be concerned ?

You will find this question asked here in previous months. There will always be some traffic to/from the router so nothing worrying. There has also been some discussion of whether it is wise to turn a router off when not in use. The advice seems to be that this would tend to shorten the life of the router.
Are you making use of the Plusnet Broadband Firewall? This may help you to reduce unwanted traffic by blocking it before it gets on to your connection.
