Re: Router and Profiles

Hi me again, I've just checked the results in my router area and since rebooting the router just over 15 mins lapsted the FEC errors are 546, I thought I had cured the problem changing the filter unless its with turning interleaving off.
Could Matt advise please. As you can see it says    channel mode        Interleave

Re: Router and Profiles

Hi Jono,
Looks like the order was placed but changed interleaving from on to auto, so it's still in effect - sorry about that. I've placed a manual order to turn it off which should complete for you tomorrow.

Re: Router and Profiles

Hi Matt and thanks, Could I ask a question please, dont know much about it but here goes, The read out I posted last night was worse than the one before, I rebooted the router thinking it needed it to show interleaving off on my router. I got worse readings after doing so, I rebooted again and now my router is showing as below which is not bad, how come its showing bad readings  ( what I call bad readings that is)  then after reboot of router its reading ok with few errors, I thought it was line problems that caused poor errors.
Mind I had a look out of my back window yesterday and about 10 work vans were parked outside the exchange, but I would have thought what they are doing should not affect my broadband, i think they are working on the fiber optic.
Any clarification would be appreciated

Re: Router and Profiles

Hi jono,
Lines can vary from hour to hour or day to day, so you can often see this kind of fluctuation. Are the errors impeding your use of the internet?

Re: Router and Profiles

Hi Joanne, no not up to now, just couldn't understand why I had a load of FEC errors in 15min and when rebooted router only have 341 in now over 20 hrs, never noticed before got new router, used to switch off my old one every night, since I got the new one I read I shouldn't be doing that.
Thanks for the clarification anyway, I get on tests regular speeds of about 6mb, thought it would be higher than that with being so close to exchange but hopfully they will activate the adsl2 in the future.

Re: Router and Profiles

Hi, I've had interleaving turned off and has been stable over the last two days, I'm posting the results of router readings and the result of BT Wholesale to see if its possible to have my IP profile increased, its 6.5 at the moment.
I'm having problems transferring the reading from BT so will enter manually.
Results are estimated adsl Max line 8mb so speed should be between 7and 8mb.
