Ridiculously poor speed...

Hi,
over the past month or two, my connection speed has been very poor. It used to be pretty damn fast, so I don't know what's happened exactly.
First, the router was connected to a socket in our second bedroom. This worked fine, connecting wirelessly to it, getting good speed.
Then I moved it when my mate moved in with me, to the living room where the mastersocket is. Again, worked fine connecting wirelessly to it, getting good speed, for months.
Then all of a sudden about 6 weeks ago it just lagged like hell and it's done it since. I have tried all sockets in the house and that makes no difference - at the moment I have my computer connected with a network cable straight into the router, but am still getting very poor speed.
Downloads are averaging about 190kbps but page browsing is terrible for some reason, takes an age to load pages which is no use to a developer who constantly needs to F5 for page testing  Wink
Will post some BT speed test results etc below in a second
cheers guys!

Re: Ridiculously poor speed...

As someone has posted elsewhere, Facebook and Ebay are loading fustratingly slow, for me too.
I only ever use my connection in the evening. I can understand it being a little slower with most people online during this time, but this is grim!

Re: Ridiculously poor speed...

Your router stats are excellent although I don't know about the Wireless LAN errors.
The BT speed test may well be hit by exchange congestion - Microsoft Tuesday - but it might be worth seeing the status of your exchange http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/
It is possible you are being hit by this problem http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,79576.0.html
When it is lagging to a site try a tracert and see what you get

Re: Ridiculously poor speed...

Any ideas? Obviously if the test above is correct and the down speed is more than half the speed it was last year, it is a bit concerning...
