Red light on my router internet button - but internet connection ia fine

My Plusnet Technicolor router recently began to display a red light instead of green for the internet connection. The light stays red regardless of whether my PC is on or off.
Thing is,there's no problem with my internet connection. Everything works well.
So what's going on? And why? And should I take any action or leave well alone?

I vaguely remember this being a bug with some of the routers but it doesn't do anything detrimental to your connection.
If it is all working perfectly, may I suggest a bit of tape over the red light and turning a blind eye to it ?

Yup
A known glitch
If it gets annoying a disconnect/connect via the web interface can fix it
This only drops the PPP session and doesn't affect your line sync with the exchange

Thanks DomS and Old Jim - good to know there's nothing majorly wrong with the router or PC.
I'll try DomS's `blind eye' strategy  initially but I suspect I'll end up following Old Jim's solution sooner or later.

I turn all my leds off!
