Re: Ticket Question #48358253 Speed Issues

Good Morning one and all,
I changed my package to Plusnet Extra on the 20th October and am now past my 10 day training period.
I have also had my speed increased to up to 17000Mb.
The BT Speedtester this morning is showing an IP Profile of 9496Kbps. However,  Plusnet is showing the following under the connection settings:
Phone exchange:MYWAY Estimated line speed:8Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) -
Checked on 2011-09-06 13:10:18
Current line speed: 7.1 Mb
Would some kind person at Plusnet Towers kindly have a look at this as the last check on the line is showing as 6.09.2011. (JoJo, Adam, Matt et al)

Re: Ticket Question #48358253 Speed Issues

I've just checked your account and the 7.1mb profile with us matches the 7150 BT profile. I'm concerned that a lack of stability with your connection has caused this. I'd like to run some tests with your router connected to up to the test socket if that's possible?

Re: Re: Ticket Question #48358253 Speed Issues

Morning Adam,
I have just replied to you via the ticket (#48358253) confirming that I am now connected to the test socket within the master socket.
Thank you for taking ownership of this.
You should now notice a significant difference to the stats - as I did.
Explanation given in ticket.
Kind regards,
Brian

Re: Re: Ticket Question #48358253 Speed Issues

Afternoon all,
Just to update everyone on my progress with the speed issues.
I have sorted it all out with very helpful support from those very nice people at Plusnet Towers and through the ticket system - so grateful thanks to all those CSC people - you know who you are.
It's amazing what you get with a little bit of humble pie and a modicum of kindness and politeness.
So....................................... to infinity and beyond!
Can't wait for my IP Profile to reach the dzzy heights - to go where no-one has gone before (maybe!!)
Yours,
Happy Bunny

Re: Re: Ticket Question #48358253 Speed Issues

Thank you, Adam
Yes nearly sorted - just have to complete my little project over the next few hours/days of installing a Clarity BT NTE 5 Master ADSL Adapter, some new cabling, a Krohn tool and a lot of care and attention.
I will have to take the router out of the test socket for the moment as I need my phone line - but, hey, one can't have everything.
I cabled all the extensions here at home in 1989 (pre digital cordless phones) and suspect that they have come to the end of their useful life - unlike me!! Still going strong!!!
Enjoy the rest of your day and many thanks for your help.
Brian

Re: Re: Ticket Question #48358253 Speed Issues

Just spotted my spelling mistake - Krohn is a port, Krone is the tool I shall be using!!
Mind you, I might use both!!!
