Re: Slow speeds and dropped connection - 21CN

May I say that a single reboot over a period of a week caused BT to penalise my line with an extra 3dB of noise margin?

Was this on the 21CN trial? As the line management will work differently on the new platform.
If not I'd be very surprised if there weren't other disconnections or noise related errors on the line adding to the issue.

Re: Slow speeds and dropped connection - 21CN

Yes - it's 21CN - I've had BT round and they said that getting a sync of around 6Mbps at 2Km from the exchange is perfectly fine.
In other words, performance on 21CN is no better than 20CN Cry
It is clear that BT have major problems with 21CN - I've been on this "trial" for 7 months and it was tested internally for 'X' months.
My exchange was enabled back in 19/08/2008...
BT will have tested it prior to that...
And it has still got issues - such as rubbish quality telephone cables?
My telephone cable is above ground for the width of a residential road - so the fault lies underground.
I've seen a BT engineer lift a huge bundle of cables, all wrapped in what looked like a black plastic bag out of an underground
vault - he used a stick as they were submersed in dirty water.
