Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

Thank's Chris.
I had to create a new TBB graph due to a resync resetting the IP address.

Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

That's actually looking a bit better, not perfect but nowhere near as spiky as the previous nights. What was your experience like?

Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

Last was as you described actually, much better but not not perfect.
Still bad quality skype, and buffering on iplayer, but instead of every 10 seconds or so it was every couple of minutes, so there was an improvement.

Cheers Adam. Smiley

I just had a reply to ticket number 64738430, I'm worried there maybe some crossed wires, maybe you could check it out guys?
I think the exchange saw the disconnections made by myself changing the router over, and testing by PlusNet as a fault, and altered the SNR from 3 down to 6 down.
Obviously the latency needs to be dealt with, but I would also like the SNR to be set at 3 down, 6 up again please.
Thanks for your help guys.

Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

This is beginning to get rather frustrating.
Skype voice/video calls are useless, youtube just buffers, as does the iPlayer.
Xbox is so bad it's funny!

Speed wise, ignoring the fact my SNR was reset so I am syncing lower than normal, the speed is fine.

The TBB graph is showing an awfully high number of spikes of 100+.

Any news on what the issue is?

Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

Update:
Had to reboot the router this morning as I had no connection for some reason, however it has now jumped back to the correct SNR settings.

Last night was awful for VOIP and streaming again, and looking at TBB graph I can see why.

Due to the reboot, I need to make a new graph, which is below:

Plusnet has me on a 11meg profile, whilst bt have me on 15meg, can you give this a kick for me to please.

Any info on whats happening would be great, thanks.

That was me seeing if setting you significantly below the BT profile would help with the latency, obviously not so I'll set it back to how it was previously.
Can I remove the Pro add-on to see how it performs after that? I'll refund the cost of that for this month.

Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

OK thanks. Done that now so you should have the standard Unlimited traffic management tonight, keep an eye on your TBB graph and I'll check later this evening/tomorrow morning to see what it's like.

Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

OK, so I've attached a snapshot of your graph overnight.
It's quite obvious on there the periods that there is very minimal data transfer happening (Midnight - 5am) and this ties up exactly with the figures we see here when looking at an hourly breakdown. So in simple terms, as soon as you start doing any significant data transfer, you're getting ping spikes.
I'm running out of suggestions myself, so am going to drop an email to Dave T to see if he's got any suggestion (he's out of the office this week but should still reply).
We'll keep going until we get to the bottom of this!

Re: Rather strange issue. Ticket 64738430

Yea it really is very strange
At the moment I am getting:

Its strange because up until I first reported this it had never happened before.
Thanks for your help though Chris, it's much appreciated mate.
