Range Extender on old Thomson router

Am I correct in thinking that my new range extender (set up via WPS) cannot be used with my old Thomson router?  Does it have WPS capability?
If not, will I need a new one & does that?  Thank you.

WPS is only a way of simplifying setup - Can you configure the range extender manually?
What make and model is it?

Re: Range Extender on old Thomson router

It's a Trendnet TEW-736RE and although new to me has been used for a few months on a BT Homehub 3 with Plusnet and was set up (yes, very simply) via WPS.
I guess what I am asking is whether I can set it up even if the router doesn't have a WPS button.

You can - Follow the 'Setup Wizard Configuration' section on page 7 of the manual.
