Just wondering what the promised thunderstorms will do - I'm going to risk it and leave everything running.

Not so much my interest as your commitment. That's a 33+% decrease in synch speed. Really need to get a profile on this so that the source of the REIN can be identified.

I would dearly like to get to the bottom of this, but at the moment so long as I have a connection, I'll have to be satisfied.
Maybe towards the middle/end of next week when things have calmed down a bit, I'll be able to spend more time on what i need.

Post #34 is the one with the figures we need to see.
A line of your attenuation (34dB) ought to deliver circa 12-13Mbps DS synch @6dB with ADSL2+ modulation.
That should give a profile in the region of 11Mbps - speed tests should be around 10.5Mbps.
A line synched without noise, later experiencing noise will see the SNRM fall below 6dB and possibly drop.
A line synched with noise, later experiencing no noise will see the SNRM raise above 6dB - this will lead to a lower error rate as well.

@ Kevin - no xDSL or PPP drops since that last catastrophic one. Odd DS SNRM fluctuations, but they don't last long & seem to recover to 12.7/13.1 quickly.
Will try and post relevant pics &c if I get half an hour later on.

That is exactly what we are looking for. Such events (if the SNRM were not so high) might have dropped the link.

Thought I was getting an afternoon off, but no such luck. I'm afraid it's going to be earlyish tomorrow, but I'll leave everything running.

I was out this afternoon - came back and looked at router log as JDS was showing a new IP. Discovered there had been a PPP drop 14.45.06 - 14.45.26 - which didn't show on RS, but no change in SNRM or speed.
Just getting ready to post that snippet, and I've had TWO DSL drops #1 17.04.43 - 17.05.31 #2 17.07.25 - 17.08.12
Connected now @ 11.976 DS/0.780 US SNRM 5.9/6.1 DS /5.9 US.
Don't know how long it will hold - SNRM is fluctuating a bit.
