RWIN

Whilst I am happy with my RWIN setting, I am intrigued by the two alternative ways of determining RWIN.
My setting used the method now included in PlusNet's "Guide to RWIN and MTU" in the Help pages.
However, DSLREPORTS includes a calculation to determine RWIN using the connection latency, determined from a DOS "Ping" statement.
Using the "Ping" method to determine the latency, in low-traffic periods, ie before 8:00am, I obtain a latency (65ms) that, in turn, gives an RWIN very close indeed to the PlusNet test-and-see method.  However, If I determine that latency in high-traffic periods, the latency is higher (say 81).
Which latency value should be adopted?  Or, in practice, is this difference is negligible?
Regards.....Noel

Re: RWIN

Hi Noel, IMO any difference would be negligible and hardly noticeable.

Re: RWIN

Thanks, Bob, sounds right.  I suspect the RWIN is OK over quite a range.
I guess it's the MTU that wants to be accurate.  Fortunately mine is 1500.
Cheers.....Noel
