Re: Question #85864399

Brand new cable installed this morning from Master Socket to router. Just need to cable clip it when I get home from work. Have now replaced everything I can internally. Any issue now must be external  Sad (Replace the 37 year pole I am connected to? Hahahahahaha)

Re: Question #85864399

5m High speed ADSL cable.  Goes direct to router with no excess cable.
Cannot do it any other way as there are no power sockets near the master socket.
Also I must have the router where it is as I have a printer and NAS enclosure going into it.
Would just be nice to get back SOME of the 3.5 Mbps I have lost since joining Plusnet.

Re: Question #85864399

Resetting your SNR won't fix your problems - it's a short term solution, but the underlying importance is to find why your SNR is increasing in the first place.

Re: Question #85864399

That's been done for you.
I agree with AndyH, I think it'd be a good idea to see how your line performs from here on.

Re: Question #85864399

Since replacing the high speed adsl cable on Friday, the speed test seems to have increased to almost 13Mbps. It will be interesting to see if it remains stable as I think its unlikely BT will replace  the pole any time soon.

Re: Question #85864399

Were you using an extension cable before and if so was it a round twisted pair or a flat cable?

Upload on speed tests seems to be really slow since the reset.

Re: Question #85864399

The line is in the stabilisation period, so I'd expect there to be a few variations in speed for the first 10 days.
From what I can see though, the speeds are looking fine from a sync point of view.

Re: Question #85864399

Don't know if it's to do with the stabilisation period, but my son has complained his pc interent and xbox connection have been almost unusable since the reset.
I ahve changed nothing on my end other than the new adsl cable.

Re: Question #85864399

Is it possible someone can check if the number of upstream errors has reduced since replacing the cable?
If not, Support want me to plug in the 582n, to discount it being my router (which they seem to want to blame).  I am loath to do this unless really necessary as it doesn't provide good enough coverage in our property.
