Query about BT speed test

I just got fibre recently and although I was only estimated to get 29Mb I am getting 37Mb.  Out of curiosity I decided to run the BT Wholesale test and it's saying that I have an IP Profile of 47.06Mb down and 20Mb up (current up is 7.23Mb).

What would I need to do to get the faster speeds, or is it not worth the extra outlay?  The increased upload speed would be nice so I can upload my music to iTunes Match quicker 🙂

Re: Query about BT speed test

what product are you on and what does this say about current line speed https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
was that test wired or wireless
Other than wireless problems that upload is as good as you are going to get

Re: Query about BT speed test

Product:Unlimited Fibre (Without Phone)

Estimated line speed:
29Mb (Download speed could vary depending on line conditions. Estimates are the maximum speeds that your phone line can support. These speeds are dependent on the package you choose.) - Checked on 2014-07-09 12:11:46
Current line speed:
40 Mb
This was tested via Ethernet connection.

Re: Query about BT speed test

OK
First thing is that the download speed is limited by the product you are on - to get more download speed you need to pay more for Fibre Extra
Second - the upload speed is as good as you are going to get

Re: Query about BT speed test

Thanks for the help Oldjim, I'll stick with this for the time being as it's still faster than my old ADSL MAX connection 🙂
