I have had the following result from BT speed tester for the past 24 hours.....
14:10 Friday 12 Feb
Download Speed
1046 Kbps
0 Kbps 2000 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1046 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2016 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 1750 Kbps
and my Plusnet profile is
Phone exchange:
WATERLOOVILLE
Estimated line speed:
1.5 - Checked on 2009-12-04 17:09:35
Current line speed:
1250
SO .... when will my BT speed increase up to the current line speed showing on the Plusnet profile,( or better it....) and when will the Plusnet profile increase to the 1750 showing on BT speed tester? with a consequent increase in speed at my end of the wire?
My line has been stable for ages, there is no fault on the line, I have routerstats graphs for at least 48 hours showing very little change from the "central" line of snr.....and certainly no dramatic spikes of interference.....

Quote . when will my BT speed increase up to the current line speed showing on the Plusnet profile,( or better it....)
Not sure what you're asking here.
Quote and when will the Plusnet profile increase to the 1750 showing on BT speed tester?
Quote with a consequent increase in speed at my end of the wire?
As soon as the router picks up the new profile, it might need a disconnect/reconnect.

at time of posting.... BT speed was 1046k Plusnet said it was "current line speed 1250" ... so I was asking when will the BT speed increase from 1024 to 1250 (or better it) seeing as the BT profile was 1750 and from that, I should expect to see a speed of 1500(approx)
Will do a re-boot and see what happens !...
Thanks

Have done the 5 minute power down/re-boot and as if by magic !
Download Speed
1529 Kbps
0 Kbps 2000 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1529 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :1952 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
************************************************************************************************************************
Surprisingly I am still connected to "unknown" gateway (which I was before the power down)
You are currently connected to the "unknown" gateway.
Router stats
Down load Upload
Rate (Kbps): 1952 448
SNR Margin (dB): 5.9 20.0
Attenuation (dB): 63.5 25.0
Output Power (dBm): 12.1 19.0
****************************************************************************************************
SNR has gone up a bit, and the Synch speed has dropped a bit, but this should only help to make the line more stable over night....
So.............. all is well..... Thanks !
