Problems this morning?

Hi all,
I noticed I was connected but no PVC this morning when I left for work around 7AM. No notices anywhere on plus.net's site, but look at the bottom graph on http://www.plus.net/support/network_performance/broadband_bandwidth_usage.shtml?supporta=networkpbro...
That can't be right - problems last 2 mornings?
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Problems this morning?

Hi Steve,
We moved two centrals to a different suite at Telehouse North this morning.
We then needed to disconnect everyone briefly to ensure that all of our pipes were balanced.
Are you now able to reconnect?

Re: Problems this morning?

Oh sorry I didn't look at the ADSL dial - I looked at the internet connectivity section!
I can't tell if it's OK now - I'm at work - will check later.
Thanks!

Hi Tina,
I'm really sorry about this, it must be a right pain.
Can I ask if you have tried rebooting your router?

Re: Problems this morning?

Hi James,
Sweet of you to reply.
I tried rebooting the router this morning, will try again later when I've finished what I'm doing.
Thanks, Tina

Hi Tina,
I don't think sweet is something I've been called on here! Smiley
Looking at our connection logs, I can see that you initially reconnected around 6:20am, presumably when the maintenance work occurred.
That screen that you are getting is normally symptomatic of an overloading issue, so I'd be relatively confident that if you power down your router for ten minutes and then reconnect, all should be well.

Has this been posted to force9.service.status?  It hasn't arrived in my feed.  Is usenet still used for status?

Re: Problems this morning?

It's been posted to the service status feed but as the Force9 website is no more there will rarely be posts on the usenet feed. You will probably be better off adding the PlusNet service status group instead.

It got 2 status messages yesterday, so I assumed it was still funtioning.
If it is defunct, a message should have been posted to that effect, so all users could subscribe to the plusnet group.

Re: Problems this morning?

Very worthy point!
TBH, I'm a big fan of Usenet and whilst neglecting to tick the Service Status boxes when posting planned maintenance messages, I'd completely forgotten about this aspect of things and the fact that things may get missed. I'll get together with the rest of the Comms guys tomorrow and have a discussion on how best to approach this moving forwards.
