Problem with a game subscription

I have posted this here rather than the Gamers Forum to give my question a wider audience with more knowledgeable readers.
I have been trying to sign up to the on line game ‘EVE Online’ using my debit card. In fact I tried so often last night it triggered a phone call from the banks fraud department this morning to check it really was me making the payment requests (pat on the back for my bank).
As far as they are concerned my card details are all correct and it passes their tests however it fails with a ‘Bad Tracking’ error at their end and a ‘Verification Refused’ at EVE’s end with a message to check I am not using a proxy server or stealth software to hide my connection, I’m not using either.
So anyone have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?
I have emailed Eve support but don’t expect a quick reply and today is my last trial day.
Thanks for any help offered, regards, P.

Re: Problem with a game subscription

Potentially yeah.
I was wondering whether it might have been a Switch or Maestro card, which doesn't offer continuous authority.  given that it's a Visa card, I'm afraid I can't offer any sort of explanation why it wouldn't work.

Re: Problem with a game subscription

Just had one thought, it's not got mixed up with your 'Brightview'  Wink or whatever it's called IWF proxy server and thats causing the problem?
It shouldn't it's just an on line space game  :o.
Anyway my time has expired now so I wont bother again I just wondered if anyone else had come across the problem and knew why.

Hehe, Brightview is the company that previously owned Madasafish.
It shouldn't be anything to do with the IWF filter.

Re: Problem with a game subscription

You could buy an eve timecode instead if you are still having trouble.  You can get them from other places.

Re: Problem with a game subscription

An update on this problem.
Last night my son also wanted to update one of his Eve-online subscriptions and just like me his transaction was refused ‘Not Authorised’ with the same message about turning off proxy servers or stealth software.
However this morning he tried from his work location and the card was accepted fine. I then tried again from home with my card and it failed yet again. So I ‘phoned my card details to him at work and he accessed my Eve account and using my details the subscription was authorised fine.
Both broadband connections (mine at home and his at work) are with Force 9 but mine is a ‘Home’ connection and his is a ‘Business’ connection. I have tried with both Zone Alarm and Avast turned off and my router (both places have Linksys routers) set to DMZ for my computer and again it failed.
Below is a Trace route of the connection between my computer and the Eve-online server but I can see nothing untoward. It seems very strange that it worked fine at his work place but would not work for either of us at home (that was using two different computers BTW).

So what can be the problem?
