Problem with FTP ?

I uploaded some stuff to my FTP last night and now i find i can't connect to my FTP at all today.
Service status says its in the green so I'm just wondering if its my end.
my FTP program says this
ERROR:>  Timeout (60000 ms) occurred on receiving server response.
ERROR:>  Failed to establish data socket.
I am logging in ok but it seems its timing out for some reason.
but like i said no problems last night logging in.

Re: Problem with FTP ?

Have you changed any settings on your ftp client?  Check that it is set to passive ftp connections.
Otherwise, any recent changes to rules on your firewall?

FTP upload to my webspace is broken

Having been uplodaing files to and using my web space for years it has suddenly stopped working.  I get loogged on OK, but LIST and PASV commands just hang and timeout.  I've opened a ticket, but I'm told that it is being "monitored and investigated" as they have had a number of reports of the problem.  How widespread is this issue?  Can other forum members still upload files?

Re: Problem with FTP ?

CSC has informed me there is a problem with FTP.
It has been down since Friday night but theres been no update to the service status page probably due to the weekend and everyone being drunk  Wink

Re: Problem with FTP ?

Ah on reflection this is probably related to the problems we're having with accessing certain websites on certain gateways.

Re: FTP upload to my webspace is broken

I have had the same problem since 12.49 am yesterday.
My weather station uploads data to my site every 30 seconds from a dedicated PC.
I have tried reaching the site with ftp from another PC....same problem
I have raised a ticket with Plusnet who say their network team is investigating.

Re: Problem with FTP ?

Hi all,
I think this is related to the gateway issue, I've done some testing with one of our networks guys and we have been unable to replicate this. Has anyone noticed any particular gateways that might be causing the issue?
Sorry for the hassle, please let me know anything you find out as we're investigating this from here as well.

Re: Problem with FTP ?

You are currently connected to the "Telehouse East, Juniper 3" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as pte-ag1.

You are currently connected to the "City Lifeline, Juniper 8" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as pcl-ag01.
Changed gateway.
Still the same  - timing out on F9 & PN web servers
