Hi
I've been unable to access a forum at www.yacf.co.uk for a couple of days, though I haven't seen the problem with any other site I've tried to load. However, I can log into the forum via my mobile and I can see that posts have been made today - so it looks like the site is running.
I haven't changed connection or router settings for a while, so I'm puzzled why I can't see the site. Because other browsing doesn't seem to be affected, I don't think that it's a local problem. A tracert (pasted below) shows a time out after 8 hops. Pinging the site shows 4 timeouts.
Any ideas?
Thanks. Peter

Can you login to your router and disconnect for a couple of minutes?
Hopefully when you reconnect you'll be on a different gateway (which may or may not solve the problem).

Hi Waldo,
I beat you to it!
I just rebooted my router and am now connected to a different gateway ("City Lifeline, Juniper 10" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as pcl-ag03). Can now access the site, so problem fixed (or rather, worked around). I'll know to try this earlier next time.
Thanks for your help!
Peter

Don't go doing it too often - it can look to the BT equipment at the exchange that your line is unstable and result in a lower sync speed when you reconnect.
