Problem Extending wifi using Netgear WN1000DP

Using the standard technicolour router and need to extend its range ( they didn't deliver the extension cable when I had the modem and router installed yesterday!!!!). Using a Netgear WN1000DP I can recognise it with the router, and vice versa,  but can't get wifi access to it. It comes back, 'windows unable to access it........'.  I have previously used the Netgear device with my last router.
Any help would be appreciated!!!

Re: Problem Extending wifi using Netgear WN1000DP

Have you turned off the dhcp server on the Netgear? you might want to give it a lan ip address of 192.168.1.2 for example so you can reach it from the same ip range as the TG582n. Turn off the wifi on the TG582n while you get the Netgear settled if you have the router wired to pc.
