New firmware causes router to slow down to a halt. I personally don't like it hence i'm back to the orginal

Have you tried using URL filtering in the parental controls by any chance?

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

right,
the control restrictions are not working at all, suspect it's either because I have repeaters or because of the lock ups
my router keeps locking up preventing me from logging on to it and seeing what is happening
I am getting really bizarre connections issues, speed is high as per tests but some sites have become impossible to use but only wirelessly from certain repeaters
dropping back from 10.2.5.2.FO to the 10.2.5.2 to see if that helps otherwise I will go back to 8.c.m.0 where I started

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

oh great
can't get the Thomson updater software to log onto the router
it will happily connect to the two thompson repeaters
I know the correct user name and password and cross referenced it by logging into the router normally
but I still can't get into it!
Grrrrrr, this firmware upgrade has done nothing but cause me problems

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

Ok, can't log back into the router again at the moment so I will need to reset it to resolve that
I am worried that if I do a hard reset so I can get back to the firmware update
it still won't allow the firmware software to work
and
I will get more issues and could be locked out of it perminently
anyone else had these problems?

Going back to the 8.C.M.0 version but need to do a had reset of the router first
This is a nightmare

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

right
did a hard reset and the thompson tool still can't log into the router using admin and serial number
so i guess the firmware update has fubar'd the fireware update software?

Command                     Comments
eth bridge igmpsnooping config View present state.
If state=enabled then apply the fix
eth bridge igmpsnooping config brname=bridge state=disabled Apply fix

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

hi,
when the router locks it's log in (about 5 to 10 mins after a reset) Telnet also fails
as for the DLNA issue, it's not constant
It works fine and then at some point it stops being visible though I have never had it shut down whilst in opperation
So I don't that this lack of discovery is the issue
However, it does concern me that with the new firmware it locks you out after a while and the Thompson update software no longer works.
