Preventing wirelss access at certain times

hi,
I am using the PN TG582n router at the moment with 2 Be thompson routers acting as wireless repeaters on different floors of the house (3 floored 1920's house)
My kids are using the wireless late at night/early in the morning via ipods/android phones and I want to be able to limit access as clearly they can't be trusted.
I don't want to just turn off the wifi or internet  and I can't be bothered turning off all the seperate repeaters.
I can easily give the dvices fixed ip's on the network but can you then add time controls
thanks in advance
Steve

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

Log into the Router GUI by typing 192.168.1.254 into your web browser
Using the Username and password that is on the underside of the router and also on the card provided with the router
Click on Home Network > Access Control
In the
Device Access Scheduler >choose the ID of the devices you want to control access for then click Edit for each device and choose wireless time control then tick Enable Schedule > choose the times you require then apply

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

I can't see that option
It's a tg582n fttc running 8.c.m.0 straight out of the box.
Must admit I have never seen that option on a Thompson.

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

As I said, not there.
I would post a pic but I'm on the iPad.
I can see that you're software release is different to mine though.
Are there updates to flash it?  I just assume that they come with the latest os.

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

Great, how long has the new firmware been out as I've only had the piece of junk router less than 6 months
Anyway, that's a job for early evening and being sober.
Btw, what's the different between the 5.2 and the 5.2.fo?

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

As far as I can make out the newest firmware released December 19
Quote from: Graham21
We've just released new firmware for the FTTC version of the 582n and put it in the usual place:
http://products.plus-payh.co.uk/firmware/
10.2.5.2.FO enables multicast support for forthcoming Plusnet IPTV services.
This is not demo firmware, it's been approved and been through Technicolor's QA process but we would still like to hear from you if you have any feedback on it.
You will also see new firmware for the 589vnv3 10.5.2.F which we gave out to some of you a few months ago. This is not Plusnet specific firmware but you are welcome to use it on an unsupported basis.
Enjoy,
Graham

I could be wrong but I think the 5.2 does not enable multicast support for the forthcoming Plusnet IPTV services, like the 5.2 FO does enable the multicast
THus meaning the 5.2 FO is the latest firmware
However if I am wrong, I am sure seasoned members or Plusnet staff can inform of the correct information

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

Hi,
Huzzah, updated the router (which was a bit of a faff)
and now activate the controls which works fine
The new firmware isn't that great though.
It keeps locking up forcing a reset and as all the other posts suggested, all the saved settings were killed
Oh well
Thanks for all your help

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

hi,
the FO one
it's weird, you can log onto the router once but once you come out it won't let you back in without reseting it
though you can use a different device, once

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

Can you try the previous firmware Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 10.2.5.2   and see if that makes a difference
As I am on ADSL I am unable to test the FTTC firmware

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

I'm using this on my TG582n 8.C.M.0 http://npr.me.uk/accesscontrol.html works perfect for me, just make sure you don't delete any of the Local Network Devices added to the TOD list while they are being blocked and you will be fine.

Re: Preventing wirelss access at certain times

New firmware causes router to slow down to a halt. I personally don't like it hence i'm back to the orginal
