I regularly achieved download speeds of 17mb/s after my first 10 days on PlusNet.
(I am only 466 metres from exchange)
After my first power cut a couple of months back, the speed reduced to 14.95mb/s average for two months.
It never achieved the initial high speed.
Just had another power cut, only 5 minutes, but again speed reduced after power restored, to 13.15mb/s
Whilst still happy at the high speeds will my speed gradually increase ?
Can I force a new 10 day trial to increase speeds again to my initial 17mb/s ?

Now getting 14.94mb/s, as before power cut.
I didn't lose that much speed, still very good, more concerned about losing Internet during power cut !!
I am using mains powered iMac desktop, no portable, otherwise I would power router off DC PSU, low consumption.

This morning, after a hefty overnight session, everything was soooooooooooo slow.
(BBC iPlayer downloads 10gb) and many other tabs open at the same time during the night.
Panic ............
I remembered what I had to do from a while back.
I closed Camino (iMac) and rebooted the Browser
Phew
So if your Broadband suddenly slows, try a Browser re-boot (Or computer)

Subject: Slow broadband speeds and performance problems (69550/122974) - UPDATE
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Yes, I couldn't access PN BB overnight, miserable few hours !!
(Had to get my backup Dongle out)
And when I could access PN BB 7:30am ish, my speed was abysmal, as predicted by PN, around 2mb/s
So I did the unplug router thing for 20 mins (not sure whether this was to unplug power, or BT connection, so I did both)
After re-connection, speed was 11mb/s, oh oh, 10 days of slow speeds I thought.
Anyway, within an hour, my speed was back up to it's more normal 14.9mb/s.
This Sunday evening, when speeds are normally a little slower, I measured at 16.38mb/s, and that's with increased Internet shopping traffic.

Most of the time the speed doesn't really matter, mostly browsing, RSS & emails.
I don't download music or films, but it does come in handy for my almost nightly BBC iPlayer downloads.
