Power Cut.

Hi,  Have just had a mains power cut for about 10 mins,  which has cut my download speed by more than half.  I have tried a restart on my router but it made no differance,  Any chance of having a bump back up, I don't fancy being this slow over the Xmas period.
      Hoping  you can help,  thanks

Re: Power Cut.

Have you asked Santa for an UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) to protect your router against mains drop outs, for Christmas ?  Wink

Received the "loss of BB" email...

And when I could access PN BB 7:30am ish,  my speed was abysmal, as predicted by PN, around 2mb/s
So I did the unplug router thing for 20 mins (not sure whether this was to unplug power, or BT connection, so I did both)
After re-connection, speed was 11mb/s, oh oh, 10 days of slow speeds I thought.
Anyway, within an hour, my speed was back up to it's more normal 14.9mb/s.

This Sunday evening, when speeds are normally a little slower, I measured at 16.38mb/s, and that's with increased Internet shopping traffic.

When you signed up for your broadband account, we performed a check on your telephone line to give you an estimated speed your line might achieve.
Now that your service has now been active for 14 days, we thought we'd let you know the speed as it stands today, by way of comparison.
Estimated line speed: Not available
Current line speed: 0.9Mbps
You can keep a track of your line speed through our website:

To find out more about how broadband works, and the things that can affect the speed of your service, we've written an article all about high-speed broadband:

If you've got any questions about your service our Community Forums have loads of information and help available ( http://community.plus.net/forum/ ). You can contact us online using the Help Assistant ( http://support.plus.net/ ) or you can call us on 0800 432 0200 or 0345 140 0200.

Re: Power Cut.

You just need to disconnect/reconnect via the router, we normally do this from our end as part of a profile change but it hasn't happened. You'll get the new speed once you've done that. Smiley
