Possible banded connection

Another one showing the correct results.
Quote
Download speedachieved during the test was - 6266 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 2000-21000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :14915 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 440 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 13000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 23.68:32.73:43.58 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 329 Kbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 440 Kbps

My PN IP Profile shows 13000 Kbps (Thanks Jojo) and my router is synching at 14915 Kbps with no errors but I seem to be still capped at ~6000 Kbps (verified with 2 other speed testers).
What is this 'banding' that I have heard about and is it possible that I am affected?

Re: BT Speedtester - is it broken?

HI Tony,
Banding affects the sync rate and restricts it to a certain limit. Your sync rate being as it is I would not say you were banded. I'd just keep an eye on it for now and I'll see if I can find out more info for you.

Split off as it is not related to the original thread

Sorry Oldjim, I did not mean to hijack the thread  :-[. However, BT speed tester does now seem to be giving valid results for me.

Re: Possible banded connection

Hi Jojo,
Speed had now increased  (6000 Kbps at 5.50 am and 12100 Kbps now).
No errors showing on the router stats and :
Quote
US Trained Rate: 440  kbps
DS Trained Rate: 14915  kbps
Local Line Attenuation: 30.0 dB
Remote Line Attenuation: 8.5 dB
Local SNR Margin: 6.00 dB
Remote SNR Margin: 28.5 dB

So, it look like a success :).
Thank you again for all of your help.
Tony
