I had Plusnet FTTC installed and activated this morning.
I was on a Plusnet ADSL service for two years which whilst reliable was not a particularly good speed 801kbps down and 350kbps up.
The Openreach engineer checked the line and installed the new master socket and fibre modems . The speed checks that followed were absolutely amazing as I have highligted in red.

Download speeds of 35976kbps were higher than even I anticipated and had been estimated for my line at 17000kbps.
Then suddenly at 16.30 hrs my download speed "returned" to the ADSL speed for no apparent reason and has remained so as I write.
I have rebooted both modems but no difference, it is though I am back on my ADSL connection at least as far as download speed is concerned.
Any help in solving this would be appreciated as having now "tasted" the benefits of fibre I am eager to continue my experience.

Has a delayed ADSL delta report caused Current line speed in the Member Centre to reset to an ADSL value (1250kbps)? If that is the problem it might fix itself within 24 hours as the admin systems catch up with the service change.

That speed is very similar to your old speed, suggesting spraxyt is right. Post that 'current line speed' value, and we can tell - it ought to be reading 37Mbps.
There are 2 other things that could affect your speed tests, but not normally to that extent...
1 - traffic management restricts browsing to 20-24 Mbps in the evenings 1800-2300. This affects all speedtesters, except for BT's.
2 - in the first 24-48 hrs of connection, DLM monitors the line quality, and can reduce speeds if it sees errors on the line. Normally it would wait 48 hours, but it intervenes immediately in the first 24 if the problems are severe.
However, I don't think either of these would reduce you to under 1 Mbps again.
One useful thing to find out is your 'IP profile' at BT, which you will get when running a test at the BT speedtester, WWW.speedtester.BT.com

HI rocky4x4,
spraxyt was indeed right. A historic delta report was generated for 1000k which had restricted your speed. I have put this back to what it should be, so you should see the increase shortly.

My sincere thanks to spraxyt ,WWWombat & lastly Jojo for your help and support. I decided after reading your replies to wait 24 hrs and tried a speedtest on Sunday evening, the results for Sunday (shown as yesterday) are below.
Hey presto back up to expected fibre speeds once again and as can be seen similar speeds repeated again tonight (shown as today) .Compared to my previous ADSL speeds, fibre is amazing.
I must admit it is reassuring to have the experience of other members so readily volunteered and the support of the pn team, once again thank you.
