Plusnet chat server

There is a Plusnet chat server which can be accessed via http://usertools.plus.net/irc/
However this a web interface and it doesn't seem to work in Firefox (I can connect but there is no box to type into).
Are there any instructions for using an IRC client - I've added ChatZilla to Firefox but can't figure how to get it working.
I'm sure it would be used far more if (a) people knew it existed and (b) there were instructions (server name etc)

Re: Plusnet chat server

You can use any IRC client from within a PN connection
use /attach usertools.plus.net then /join #usertools within your client

Re: Plusnet chat server

You should just be able to tell chatzilla to connect to (server name) usertools.plus.net and channel #usertools
Or if you download an actual IRC client

/server usertools.plus.net
/join #usertools

Got in there - after I switched from RIN to the normal Plusnet centrals!

Re: Plusnet chat server

I think direct connection is limited to Plusnet IPs - obviously RIN never got added

I agree - back 'in the day' when Usertools was better promoted we did indeed get considerably more visitors. (Thanks for adding it to your signature by the way.)

Probably true, and unlikely to get high on the list since the trial technically ended some time ago!
Having said that though, I don't know whether MAAF Users, or those from Brightview etc would be able to access, presumably F9 and FOL are already added, along with MN.

Re: Plusnet chat server

I would have checked myself, but I finally closed my F9 and FOL accounts late last week. Sad

It's probably safe for you to pop in today then - he's not said a word all day (well, since I logged in anyway).
