Re: Plus Net V BT speedtests

Just keep that link handy you posted above and note down the current RWIN (17520). If anything goes wrong just open DrTCP and change the receive window back to that and reboot.

When you look back at the 2000mbps i was getting i would say that this is A RESULT!!!!!!!
Hopefully this will all stay nice and stable and after 14 weeks of 2ing and froing things ar5e finally sorted out.
One last thing that i would like to add.
Plus Nets staff have done a GREAT job here with my many problems over the past 14 weeks or so.
You guys get slated off enough but for my part, i'll be staying with PN for the forseeable future as i have NEVER found an ISP that is so friendly and HELPFUL........
Your'e doing a great job guys...........keep it up and give yourselves a pat on the back!!!!!!!

Go steady, they'll be wanting a pay rise next.  Grin
Those speeds seem pretty good for your throughput speed of 4000kbps bearing in mind it's peak time now.

Re: Plus Net V BT speedtests

Yup, these speeds are just great now, especilly as i was only getting throughput speeds of between 500kbps and 1500kbps at most.
I was losing sync at anything over 1000kbps and also the line rate would just drop off every night.
Had tried 2 different routers so I thought that it couldn't be the router but plus net sent me a free BT1800 and things so far have just improved so much .I just hope that this has sorted out all the problems (touch wood).
Yes So I have no complaints about plus net whatsoever.......Great ISP, great support team

Re: Plus Net V BT speedtests

James,
As of this morning all 3 speedtests are reporting throughput speeds of between 3600 and 3700 on a 4meg profile.
Everything stayed stable overnight with no loss of sync etc.
\i am really hoping that after nearly 16 weeks this may be an end to all of the problems.
Without you guys helping I am sure i would have had to settle fo 1000kbps.
Thanks to everyone at Plus net
Regards
Richard

So glad it's sorted 🙂
The MTU / RWIN tweaks are often overlooked, but can yield great results...

Re: Plus Net V BT speedtests

Do you think they will help me get above 200kbps out of my 4400kbps line?  Grin
It seems to have become a permanent feature of my line now.
Upload not affected one bit, now 800ish on speed tests, download constant at 200-300kbps at best.  The odd quick second or so where it jumps to 500-600 but then it goes back down again - this morning was fun at 50kbps.  Roll_eyes
Mind you, its the same on both machines which are running different OS and nothings changed on them since I was getting good speeds so I assume its not MTU / RWIN.
Oh well back to the drawing board.
