I've getting high ping times recently averaging between 44 - 55ms up from from 30-32ms both wired and wireless with pages taking ages to load - sometimes to such an extent that I give up browsing completely like last night. Did anyone else have problems?
Is there a test site to ping or will any do?
ADSL

Status SHOWTIME
Downstream Upstream
Data rate(Kbps) 5848 941
Noise Margin 6 6
Output power(dBm) 0 19
Attenuation(dB) 49 28

Hi there,
Looks like there were a few disconnections shown on your line last night/early this morning, not sure if some of them were you rebooting to improve the connection but if not that might have caused it:

Well, there was a drop around 9pm last night as you can see on the graph above, I suspect that is likely the cause. Hope things have improved since?

Matt this is a snap shot of what I was getting a month ago and what I get now - combination of wired and wireless tests.
Is there anything I can do to see it's a problem at my end?

Yes, the full checklist will be advised if you run through the wizard at http://faults.plus.net but the meat of that is pretty much plugging the router into the master socket (or even better the test socket behind the master socket front plate) and unplugging everything else from the line. If the sync speed improves in that state then the fault is likely caused either by internal wiring or by something that's plugged into the phone line.
If there's no improvement to the sync speed then it's almost certainly a line fault, in which case report it to us at the link above.

Sorry Matt I expect your sick of me by now!!
My master socket is an adsl v10 which my router is plugged into. Does that mean that internal wiring problems if there are any could impact BB - when the engineer fitted it he indicated to me that the only faults that would impact my broadband in future would be on BTs side.

Well, the filter in the v10 may be at fault so it's worth trying the test socket behind that if you can. If not though no worries, just advise what you were able to test in the comments section at the last stage of the faults wizard.
