Re: PPP link down

Looks like it back again and at good speeds.

How is your phone line, is it quiet?

Re: PPP link down

This is still on going, the router is disconnecting a few times a day with PPP link down and xDSL linestate down errors on the event logs

Re: PPP link down

This issue has started occuring again, last time it was fixed by adjusting the SNR

Re: PPP link down

PPP down is the consequence of the loss of xDSL so you can ignore PPP.

For a 21dB line 21mps is pushing luck for stability. The 3.xdB DS SNRM might be optimistic. If it has been test to 6dB before and the DLM has moved it to 3dB It must be doing so because it thinks the line can take it ... and then some interference comes along and the line drops. How long does it take to recover?

The TG582n is a lovely little router in its day a daemon at hanging on to a marginal ADSL line. Which version of firmware is it running?

It plays nicely with router stats - see the download and set up links below. It will be useful to see what happens on the line just before it drops.

Re: PPP link down

That is quite old!! 10.2.2.B is markedly better.

@bobpullen - can this still be updated remotely?

Re: PPP link down

Does the router have a USB port?

8.4.4.J firmware is for a device with a USB port.

10.2.2.B is for a device without.

Re: PPP link down

Did you download, install, configure and run RouterStats?

Setting this up and running it continuously will gather evidence (if required) to support investigation of your intermittent loss of xDSL.

Possibly. You'd need to message me the serial number and corresponding account username.
