Hello, newbie here
trying to set Mac mail but......POP server keeps rejecting password etc
all details correct and I've tried a myriad of combinations too! Any ideas please?
I realise this is not much of a rant but there doesn't seem to be a "tech support" thread that I can find
thank you

Can you get on to webmail and try that. Have you set any mail boxes up as you may need to login as cedodd+mailbox.
What does the error message say and what software are you using?

Thanks for the prompt reply
Using: Mac OSX 10.5.6 and Mail v3.5
Logging in fine to webmail....
Error message "The POP server “mail.plus.net” rejected the password for user “username@plusdsl.net”" and for the avoidance of doubt, I'm NOT using "username" 🙂
I'm setting up the Plus Net for my retired sister and I was also unable to SEND email from my laptop when I was at her house - coincidence or not?
Thanks for your interest
Cheers!

“username@plusdsl.net” is for use in the router to log onto the internet.
"username" alone is for logging into POP3.

We've all been there! Welcome to the forum cedodd.

Most of the forum sections are "tech support" in one way or another - just divided into various categories.

Been there, done that, read the book, seen the movie, got the tea-shirt, etc.
Welcome to the forums, there's usually someone who can help & there's one of the most helpful members of PN staff round here who's probably done that 100's of times over
This Community Board is probably the best one to post in if you can't find a board that is specific to your query, a mod will soon move it if there's a more appropriate place (they're quite efficient these days )
Edit: A mod will probably be along in a mo to tell me off, I've probably borken at least 2 rules!
