Outgoing mail server authentication

Spring has sprung and the holiday season will be upon us soon - but we still appear to be waiting for SMTP authentication for users of non-PN IP addresses (especially roaming users)  to be officially supported. The latest PUGUT update (issues 313 [and variant 203]) was for 28th March ... but we are still waiting. DAK for sure exactly where things lie, please?

Re: Outgoing mail server authentication

It works now and has done for several months - I and many others use it. However it is not something that is officially acknowledged or supported at the moment.
Use your main plusnet username & password to authenticate with and not any you have set for a named mailbox.

Re: Outgoing mail server authentication

Thanks Peter. I had tried it some time ago  - but used my POP3 credentials and not PN account credentials (and of course it didn't then work!).
