The other problem is that quite a few FTTC modems get sold on eBay etc. so it's difficult to keep track of who owns what.
It looks from the pics like it was the power adapter and not the actual modem that was at fault. Openreach should definitely look at this to see how and why it happened.

Yhe original problem of overheating was just the modem. I was one of the sufferers, I had to set up an old computer cpu fan with a battery to keep it cool enough to work until it was replaced.
The power supply was never more than warm. Then when they did the national swap-out, they replaced the replacement replaced! Grin

It would be interesting to know what caused it. Not sure if anyone at PN can find out if Openreach will look at it and not just throw it in the nearest bin, if they haven't already!
