Offline for some hours!

My broadband went offline around 00.30am, March 28th and stayed offline all night.  Whenever I attempted to use my internet it would say that my user name and password were not acceptable or something.  Testing further it was obvious the broadband wasnt' available.  I went to bed around 2am and the connection was still the same.  It only became available again once I logged on in the morning at 8am.  I wouldn't mind so much but I run multiple websites off a home server setup so any disruptions of this sort are damaging.  Anyways I appreciate the fact that most disruptions occur in the early hours of the morning.  What I would like to know was this planned maintenance or a problem?  If maintenance where can I read up on it so that I can become aware of downtime before it happens as I was working on a site when my broadband went offline.

Hi Bluesplayer,
As itsme indicated, it's always worth checking our service status pages as this type of service affecting planned maintenance does happen occasionally.
