OK, let me know when you've run through our fault checker and I'll make sure I get the relevant notes added to it.

Re: Not really a new topic - Peak Time slowdown still happening.

@chrispurvey - I did the BT speed test before logging the fault report, and I also did the TAP3 test which advised me to raise a fault with my CP. I've held off doing another BT test as I know it's only the most recent test that you can access via KBD. I've just done another, and while not so bad as the speedtest.net one I ran a few minutes earlier, it failed to complete.
1. Best Effort Test:
Download Speed : 8.28 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:
Upload Speed : 0.9 Mbps
Your speed test has completed and the results are shown above, however during the test an error occurred while trying to retrieve additional details regarding your service. As a result we are unable to determine if the speed you received during the test is acceptable for your service. Please re-run the test if you require this additional information.

Re: Not really a new topic - Peak Time slowdown still happening.

Right - managed to get the BT Speedtester to complete.
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download  Speed
4.05 Mbps

0 Mbps 21 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speed achieved during the test was - 4.05 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 15.1 Mbps
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
0.89 Mbps

0 Mbps 0.83 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.89Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps
Still on pcl-ag05.

Re: Not really a new topic - Peak Time slowdown still happening.

Apologies for the time taken to reply - I was keeping an eye on things and due to the fact that some evenings are worse than others wasnt sure if it was a similar issue.
Anyway, it does still seem to be persisting - slow speeds between (around) 6pm till exactly midnight. This afternoon is also now exhibiting similar problems.
Its getting to be very annoying and id really like to know is it a exchange/network or traffic shaping issue so I can decide how to best go about getting the service improved.
I made a support ticket earlier on -  68887133.

Re: Not really a new topic - Peak Time slowdown still happening.

The slow-down hasn't kicked in yet tonight.

Which gateway
You are currently connected to gateway pcl-ag06.
This is located in City Lifeline House.
I'll be off to work in about 30 minutes so won't be able to test again tonight. There's an engineer appointment booked for Friday afternoon, but I suspect he won't find anything wrong. I'll keep my fingers crossed...

Re: Not really a new topic - Peak Time slowdown still happening.

Let's see if the engineer does find any issues, I've checked the exchange again and it's currently showing an OK.
@MrK

Re: Not really a new topic - Peak Time slowdown still happening.

Well, engineer has just been (a day early) and didn't find any line faults or issues with his initial testing, but as I have to go out later he decided not to close the job off and leave it for another engineer for the correct appointment time tomorrow. (He was from Fort William, so about 66 miles out of his home territory). He showed me his job instructions, which were not very detailed and shows no mention of checking at the exchange and doing a lift and shift, which I gather from my ticket should have been done. Ticket no 68600921 shows:

Dear Mr H,
Thanks for getting in touch with regards to the fault with your service, I'm sorry to see that there are currently some issues. As per the message I've left on your mobile, we cannot see a Hot VP reported by BT Wholesale on anything we have access too at this time. However we can see that you're getting low throughput on the TAP3 in peak times, which suggests there is an issue somewhere on the BT Network.
I can see that you've not asked for an engineer at this time, however this would be our next step to progress your fault. We'd be asking him to co-op with the Triage Team which may result in a second appointment for an engineer to come during the peak period. We'd also be asking for you to be moved onto different equipment, and onto a different VP, to see if this resolved your issue."
Everything is working well at the moment as I would expect.

1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download  Speed
12.7 Mbps

0 Mbps 21 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 12.7 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 13.09 Mbps
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
0.43 Mbps

0 Mbps 0.83 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.43Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps
ADSL Line Status
Connection Information
Line state: Connected
Connection time: 0 days, 00:23:18
Downstream: 14.49 Mbps
Upstream: 1.119 Mbps

ADSL Settings
VPI/VCI: 0/38
Type: PPPoA
Modulation: Unknown or no mode configured
Latency type: Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up): 6.3 dB / 6.5 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up): 24.5 dB / 12.4 dB
Output power (Down/Up): 20.4 dBm / 12.5 dBm
FEC Events (Down/Up): 5927249 / 0
CRC Events (Down/Up): 2319 / 32
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
HEC Events (Down/Up): 18933 / 7
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 33175 / 170
Interesting - the upload speed has dropped considerably, and the downstream SNR has gone to a 6dB target - it's been stable at 3dB for as long as I can remember, so I've lost about 2Mb from my downstream synch speed, presumably as a result of the engineer's testing. The upstream synch hasn't changed.
I'll do a couple of tests at peak time tonight.

I can see that the notes left by us were not comprehensive enough, I'm going to add to the notes once we've received the engineer report.

Deeper on down...

I'll stop now, as I know the exchange hasn't been checked and the lift and shift still needs to be tried.
