No connection since Wednesday

Trying to sort out my mum's plusnet broadband. There's no Internet connection. I've reset the router, re configured it, changed router, tried a different computer even.
I phoned plusnet and there is a fault in the Birmingham area - however this is leading to slow connections, not total service loss. Plus, the problem here pre-dates the current situation.
The guy on the phone said they cannot raise the error with BT while this area fault persists.
Can anyone suggest an alternative approach?

The MSO in Birmingham has now been fixed so you should be able to get the fault raised.
