Noticed the modem is in G.DMT mode, thought the line should be on ADSL2+

I have tried forcing ADSL2+ and it doesnot work . Only g.DMT works .

Hi markrach,
We need to get the engineer out so he can test the line from your premises as this should give more information on top of the exchange tests.
As regards the router, is it flashed and up to date with the latest firmware? Version 1.02.16 is at http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/932 if you need it (sorry if you're already there).
Could you try factory resetting the netgear, reflashing with the latest firmware and then running back through the setup? I know it's a pain but we've seen some issues with netgear kit in the past that was sorted by doing the above.

From experience with new equipment that the mapping/cabling/records are not correct. Is there any way that the OP can canfirm the ADSL circuit he's attached to is the same that the BT TAM's tested?

If at the time of testing the OP modem was in sync with the exchange I would suggest the BT system was looking at a different ADSL circuit.

there was a test done this morning , it shows not in sync but clearly i am . and always have been .

We've got the results from the test you posted on the ticket this morning, and will shortly be firing the fault back to BT. I suspect they'll be requesting an engineer visit very soon after they receive the clear rejection.

Ok, but as i said i cant take anymore time of work in the week , if they cannot provide a weekend appointment then they will have to make do with testing from outside the house as they recon they can do with their laptops (last engineer done that was in the house all of 2 mins).
Also this may be a long shot but would they have wired me up on the wrong jumpers as in the upload speed i sync at seems very familular (sky 768 upload) . Sky was the ISP before PN .

It's possible but I'm not convinced - your attenuation figures are pretty high so I don't think you'll be getting massive speeds either on the upload or the download side of things.

My other line is 60db on adsl2+ and i get 5mb down 1mb up , so 50db att is a little better (noise etc is prob different on each line too). plus this line (the broken one) was on BE* a while ago and i do know that lines can degrade over time but i was still pulling 6mb down 1.1mb up . this needs to be resolved asap as i'm paying for a service that in respect i don't have any more and its now getting right on my boobs  :(. Some has messed something up on the 21cn switch and they need to resolve it . I had the new line installed all NTE5 and cables were renewed , its only since the switch its been broken . Please can we do something
