There's got to be a reason for it dropping like that. I think the best bet would be for you to update your open fault ticket with your findings and see what they can do for you, as chances are another line reset will just lead to the same thing happening.
There's nothing powering down the Openreach modem at your premises is there? It's best if that stays on permanently if at all possible.
