New fibre install

Hi guys,
Just had fibre installed, we're only getting 5Meg up and 50 down (which I can live with) however the openreach guy even said the download is a bit low but didn't say what could be done about it.
Would someone be able to have a look at my line see if there's anything we could do to squeeze a bit more out the line?
Thanks

Re: New fibre install

It is yep, I noticed on the BTW checker my IP profile is 50Mbps, which will explain why I'm only hitting 48, do you think (looking at my line stats which I can't see until I unlock the modem) The line could go nearer the estimated 60?
However there's definitely something not right with the upload by the looks of it.

Re: New fibre install

Hmm yeah, I'd raise a fault so we can have a look at it in more detail for you.
You can do this at http://faults.plus.net

Re: New fibre install

Cheers Chris, just done this now.
As for the download, is it just a case of waiting to see what DLM thinks of the line and updates it? By any chance could you attach the line statistics for the line? Thanks

Re: New fibre install

Sure, it's attached. The line is erroring, so I think if we wait to see what the Faults Team come back with you can compare what I've attached with their findings?
Also, please ignore a ticket I created on your account a few minutes ago, I've since closed it!

Re: New fibre install

Thanks Chris, Yeah I did get confused by that haha.
According to the ticket it's been raised with supplier (I assume openreach)
Test Result: Fail - Fault located in local network
Description: FAULT - Battery Contact
From past experience this could be a wet joint or something?

Re: New fibre install

Yeah, that's right - that wasn't meant to have been raised on your account, your broadband line is still in testing with our suppliers though Smiley

Re: New fibre install

Chris, looks like it's set my profile back to my old ADSL one overnight, capped at 4.5Mbps down with the 5.5Mbps up and my member centre reflects this, could you give it a nudge please?
Cheers
