If I sign up for Broadband and opt to "Supply my own hardware/router" will I still be held to an 18 month contract ?

Hi there (and welcome!),
Unless you are signing up for the Pro package, all of our residential products are on 18 month contracts regardless of whether or not you take hardware.

Unfortunately YES!
I wish I could give you a rationale to this ridiculous policy other than that it is the BT way of fudging the Balance sheet. Your 18 month contract allows them to show the total 18 month revenue as Asset on the accounts.

Thanks for that, I seem to recall a couple of years ago when you supplied your own hardware you had a one month contract ?
Those days seem to have gone.

They certainly have, quite a shame.
Only was a couple of months ago, before they had their product refresh.
For some unknown reason, they decided only offering 18 month contracts was the way to go.
